Let me introduce myself…

I’m Mariko, (MAH-re-co), and I’m a documentary wedding photographer based just outside Baton Rouge, but I love to travel all over. I may not be a native Louisianan, but I love the culture and have developed an unhealthy obsession with the almost year-round snow cones and love for Cajun food.

Why do I do what I do?

I love the joy it gives others when they see their photos from a moment that means so much to them. It’s amazing how much emotion can be in one photo. I’m honored that I’m invited to capture each couple’s wedding day as it unfolds and that I’m entrusted with their memories of that day. On wedding days I love to capture moments rather than poses. Sure there’s a handful of posed photos of family and the wedding party, but most of what I capture is candid and genuine. I might even get a treasured moment you don’t remember from your whirlwind day.
