What if…? Newborn Photography Session Concerns | Premier Baton Rouge LA Newborn Photographer
So you want to book a newborn session for the baby you’re waiting for or newly arrived baby but you have some concerns that are keeping you from booking a session. Or there are things that you’re worried about before the session you’ve already booked. As a Premier Baton Rouge LA Newborn Photographer and mom of 3, I completely understand. These are some of the questions that pop into your head that you may not want to directly ask your newborn photographer. I’ve also included concerns that I’ve commonly seen from new mamas during newborn sessions.
What if my baby doesn’t won’t sleep?
Newborns and babies work on their own schedules. And it seems that when you really really want them to sleep, they never do. I’ve had lots of mom look so worried when their baby won’t sleep at the beginning of their session. I have some tricks that I use to get baby to sleep. All my sessions are baby led. So if they just won’t sleep I can get some adorable awake shots, I can also wrap them up and out them in a few props or family photos. Wrapping works almost every time. Don’t worry, I will get beautiful photos of your newborn.
What if I don’t like how I look?
This is an extremely common concern I get from new moms. You just had a baby and your body is adjusting. I aim to pose you in the most flattering way. I want you to love your photos with your new baby and I don’t want you to miss out on beautiful photos with your baby because you don’t like how you look.
What is my baby poops or pees?
Poop happens. Newborns poop and pee a lot. I mean all the time. But poop and pee don’t phase me. I just clean up and move on. You can’t be a newborn photographer and be afraid of poop or pee. It comes with the job title. So don’t worry about my backdrops or outfits if they get peed or pooped on. I wash everything baby touches after every session anyway to keep everything clean and sanitary.
What if my baby is too old?
The optimal time for those adorable swishy and curly newborn photos is in the first 14 days of life. But life happens and sometimes you can’t get in during that time period. Don’t worry. I can still take beautiful photos of your new baby. Older babies usually don’t sleep as deeply so photos on poser just might not happen. But wrapped photos are pretty much always a go to for an older baby. But in some cases the baby is sleepier and will allow me to put them on the poser. Like I said before, I let the baby lead the session.
So I hope I’ve answered some questions you might have for a Premier Baton Rouge LA Newborn Photographer and you now feel better about booking a newborn session.
